Sunday School

Every Sunday morning we have two youth Sunday school classes from 9:30-10:30am.

6th - 8th Grade meet upstairs in our Middle School Room #310.

9th - 12th Grade meet in the Youth Lounge located in the Chapel Basement.

We use the same curriculum for both classes with the hope that there will be discussion about things they are learning/talking about. We use a digital curriculum, LinC supplied by Cokesbury. LinC  is an ecumenical youth study that deals with cutting edge issues. It challenges youth to think about their faith and beliefs. With the immediacy of on-line technology and an exciting interactive approach, LinC helps to provide relevant information about current issues that have immediate impact on youth. Our teachers, in turn, are then able to help youth apply their faith to their daily experiences and remain current.

The Parent Hood

This year we are also beginning a Sunday school class for parents of our youth. Led by our own Libby Smith-Purcell, this adult class will follow the same curriculum as the youth in hopes that our youth parents might learn even more about the culture that their young people are growing up in, the pressures they face, and possible ways to deal with them. Our hope is that using this curriculum will foster dialogue and communication between families as they journey in their faith together.

Confirmation

Confirmation class for 8th graders runs from January through March. This is a time for confirmands to explore their faith with each other and ultimately decide whether this is the time they want to make a commitment to Jesus Christ and to become members of the church. This year confirmation will begin on Sunday, January 9 and will conclude with a great celebration on Sunday, March 27.
