Frequently Asked Questions

1.
What ages can participate in the youth group?

At Shallowford, youth group is offered for 7th graders through 12th graders.  Although they are not yet included in all youth group activities, we do have a middle school Sunday school class that also includes 6th graders, which meets weekly on Sunday mornings from 9:30-10:30am.

2.
When do you typically meet?

We have four main weekly connections with our young people:

1) Sunday school is offered from 9:30-10:30am for 6th-12th graders.

2) Chapel Choir, is our 7th through 12th grade choir that meets each Sunday night from 4:30-6:00pm. The choir consists of almost 50 youth and is a large part of our ministry here at Shallowford.

3) Youth fellowship is for 7th through 12th graders each Sunday night from 6:00-8:00pm. We share a meal together and then break out for other activities.

4) Bible study is offered for 7th through 12th graders each Wednesday night from 5:30-6:30pm. We gather for pizza, highs and lows, and study the Bible together.

3.
What are the costs associated with being a part of the youth group?
While you do not have to pay anything to be a part of our group, we do depend on monetary donations and payments for many of our trips and retreats. We also ask for $50 each semester to cover the cost of Sunday night meals, and $50 to cover Bible study food should you choose to participate. We are however flexible in some areas and are certainly willing to work with you as needed.
